Forget-me-not Cottage is extremely well placed for visiting the whole of the South Hams area, designated as ‘an area of outstanding natural beauty’, famous for its rolling hillsides, beautiful estuaries and 60 miles of fantastic and varied coastline, with many clean, safe and sandy beaches to suit all tastes.

Whatever your interest you are sure to find something to do in South Hams including visits to Castles, Farms, National Trust Houses, Gardens, Museums and Galleries. You can take a cruise along the river Dart or a trip on the Devon Steam Railway. There is an endless choice of walks both inland and along the stunning South Devon coastal scenery, all easily reached from Forget-me-not Cottage, or simply step outside the garden of the cottage and stroll along the creek at low tide.

If you fancy a day at the beach you will be spoiled for choice from the great sweepof flat golden sand at Bigbury or Thurlestone, or a sheltered cove like Hallsands,or you may prefer spectacular Slapton Sands, less than a 10 minute drive from the Cottage, and backed by the extraordinary freshwater lagoon or drive for another five minutes along the beautiful coastal road to the wooded sun-trap of Blackpool Sands which has just been voted the best family beach in Britain by Conde Nast Traveller Magazine:
